Just How Much Do You Love Swarovski?

Ok, so you love Swarovksi, that much is clear.

Do you also love chocolate? Who doesn’t I hear you cry.

Final question. How large is your wallet? Mmmm, this might be the one that lets you down.

DesignWeek.co.uk has a story running about how Harrods are about to introduce a line of Swarovksi studded chocolates….they look lovely but at £5,000 a pop you may just need to raid that piggy bank.

Enjoy!

Finding Swarovski Beads for Jewelry Making

Swarovski Beads #6744 Flowers 12mm “Crystal AB”
(X4)

Once excellent source for Swarosvki beads is surprisingly Amazon. I hadn’t really considered looking for beads on there, until by chance I came across a whole range, whilst actually searching for something else.

I think most people have a vision of Amazon as just a place to pick up books, music etc, but if you really look around there is a whole host of stuff at pretty great prices.

You can also pick up small lots if you are just starting out and need a small selection to start making earrings, bracelets etc. Or if you are more into the swing of it you can buy in bigger bulks and thus have a great selection at a lower cost – as you are buying in bulk.

Have a look at the selection that thay have at both Amazon in the USA and Amazon in the UK – I think you may be surprised at the quality and range. Of course if you want any jewelry ideas they also have some great books on designing jewelry pieces – but I’ll leave those to review another day.

Why Is the Swarovski Brand So Successful?

Swarovski Crystal Heart Pendant 6202 10mm Vitrail Lt

At the heart of the Swarovski brand lies a combination of three vital components:

  • Fine raw materials
  • Talented designers with vision
  • Skilled, highly experienced craftsmen

These three elements combined is what makes Swarovski in Wattens, Austria the leading manufacturer of crystal and what inspires more than half a million people worldwide to become memebers of The Swarovski Collectors Society.

Swarovski not only offers designer created crystal pieces, jewelry and optics but it also offers people worldwide, both designers and creative amateurs alike, the ability to create their own stunning jewelry and fashion pieces.

If you have a keen interest in jewelry and would like to make a start designing your own pieces, Swarovski offers a relatively inexpensive and yet stunning way to get started – whatever your first attempt from earrings through to a bracelet or necklace, I guarantee that due to the beautiful nature of the crystals themselves you will be pleased with the result and will draw adniring comments wherever you wear your design.

Making Your Own Jewelry With Swarovski Beads

I love designing jewelry – usually this is just for myself, as I haven’t got to the stage of making anything that is swish enough to sell….yet – she says with overconfidence ;-)

Some of my favourite beads are from Swarovski and if you want some ideas for designing jewelry pieces or for sources of the beads you can check out the Squidoo lens I have just created.

As outlined in the lens one of the best ebay shops I think for Swarovski is Princess Jewellery who has really great customer care and brilliant low cost prices and shipping. Check out her site and if you are stuck for ideas she also has some jewelry design guides – I particularly love the rainbow bracelet.
